Environmental Engineer Development Program

Since 1988, we have been carrying out our activities such as Treatment Plants, Waste Acceptance Facilities, Environmental Management, Analysis and Measurement, Treatment Chemicals, Service and Maintenance, as Artemis Arıtım in our office located in the YTU Technopark İkitelli campus, with our strong references and engineers who possess international knowledge and experience.

We designed the Mentor-A | Environmental Engineer Development Program to share our sectoral knowledge, experience, and expertise with environmental engineer candidates, support their personal and professional development, and illuminate their career journeys.

This program can be defined as providing advice, transferring knowledge, or offering guidance services from our experienced engineers (mentors) who possess the necessary experience, skills, and expertise that our environmental engineer candidates (mentees) need to ensure their personal and professional development.

With this program based on collaborative learning and development, we aim to prepare our engineering candidates, who possess remarkable talents and are worthy of investment, for professional work life in the best possible way.

With this volunteer-based, free, and periodically organized program, we are excited and happy to support the development journeys of our engineering candidates while achieving a first in our industry.

History of Mentorship

The origin of the word mentor comes from mythology. According to the Odyssey, King Odysseus of Ithaca entrusted his son Telemachus to his closest friend Mentor before going to war. It takes twenty years for the king to return from war, and Mentor will have trained and raised the Prince in the best way during the king's absence.

Today, the word mentor refers to someone who offers suggestions, guidance, inspiration, teaching, and modeling based on their own experiences, knowledge, and expertise, while the word mentee is used to refer to the advisee.

Purpose of the Mentor-A Program

The Mentor-A project is a social responsibility initiative conducted under the sponsorship of Artemis Arıtım, aimed at supporting the personal and professional development of engineering candidates (mentees) studying in the Environmental Engineering department of universities, with our team of experienced engineers (mentors).

Benefits of the Mentor-A Program

Mentees with different resumes come from many different situations...

The benefits that mentees will gain from the Mentor-A project will be diverse. Some of the gains mentees will achieve include;- Ensuring the transfer of experience between our experienced employees and our engineering candidates - Guiding them to identify the sub-professional areas/fields they are interested in - Allowing them to examine the practical knowledge and approaches of business life on-site - Supporting their development in line with their career planning - Capturing opportunities to access new knowledge, experiences, and relationships**Principles of Participation in the Mentor-A Program**Our greatest expectation is that our mentees adhere to the following principles in the mentoring relationship;- Defining Their Own Path – The main purpose of the mentoring relationship is to help the mentee comprehensively define their career and to enable them to determine their personal development path and follow it. - Consideration – The mentee should understand the value of the time and energy their mentor invests in them and use this wisely. - Managing the Relationship – The mentee is responsible for managing the relationship, setting agendas, and arranging meetings; they bring up the topics they want to work on and develop their own solutions to the problems they encounter.**Implementation Location and Duration of the Mentor-A Program**Our program will be conducted at the Artemis Treatment center office and/or via ZOOM.We aim to continue this volunteer-based project as long as our time and energy allow.
